Recognizing andean women: the powerful visual narrative of Yuyanapaq in the context of armed conflict in Peru
Abstract
This monograph commemorates the twentieth anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) report and the launch of the photographic record “Yuyanapaq: to remember” in the context of the Internal Armed Conflict (CAI) in Peru. In order to pay tribute to a group often forgotten in this tragic narrative, Andean women, the powerful visual narrative of Yuyanapaq is explored from the perspective of recognition according to Charles Taylor’s theory.
