Abstract

This article summarizes a major investigation that reflects the use of stage language in performance as a healing vehicle for victims of political violence in Peru. In order to do so, the case of Rosa Cuchillo from the group Yuyachkani is analyzed from the concept of “symbolic reparation” and the opinions of eight interviewed women from Ayacucho. In that way, we pretend to determine if the four analyzed elements of the performance contribute or not (and in which way) to achieve a symbolic reparation for the victims of political violence during the armed internal conflict in Peru (specifically from Ayacucho). It is expected for the conclusions to identify effective tools that enhance the political aspect of different artistic presentations, transcending its denouncing nature.
