Abstract

This article presents to the Asociación Nacional de Familiares de Secuestrados, Detenidos y Desaparecidos del Peru - ANFASEP [Peruvian National Association of Families of the Abducted, Detained and Disappeared] and its participation in the creation, preparation and dissemination of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, considered the most valuable document on the Peruvian Internal Armed Conflict that took place between 1980 and 2000. For another side, this article explains the impact of enforced disappearance on victims and family members. It also examines the role of ANFASEP
members during the Peruvian internal conflict and their contribution to the fight against impunity despite harassment, discrimination and other acts aimed at undermining the effort to seek truth and justice.
