Evaluation Process

The respective acknowledgment of receipt will be issued for articles and reviews submitted by each of the authors wishing to participate in the Journal +MEMORIA(S). Due to the number of articles received, this process may take up to 12 months.

a. Evaluation by the Editorial Committee of the CDI-LUM

Upon receipt of the articles and reviews, an evaluation will be conducted by the Committee of the Documentation and Research Center (CDI), which will involve an anti-plagiarism assessment. The eligible articles will then undergo a blind review by expert referees and the Editorial Committee, consisting of academic specialists, based on the publication standards of the +MEMORIA(S) journal. This stage takes an average of 3 months after the call for submissions is closed.

b. Blind evaluation by academic referees and review by the Editorial Committee

After the initial selection, the articles will be sent for blind evaluation by a group of academic experts in social sciences and humanities, specializing in topics of violence, memory, culture, and human rights. This review will provide suggestions and comments to the authors through the respective reports. Additionally, the articles will be sent to the members of the Editorial Committee. This stage takes an average of 6 months after the call for submissions is closed.

c. Evaluation results and sending to authors for addressing comments

Upon completion of the blind evaluation, the reports will be notified to the authors. From that moment, authors will be informed of the set deadline to resubmit their articles or reviews with the required changes or additions resulting from the referees' evaluation.

d. Second review by the CDI Editorial Committee After making the requested changes

The articles or reviews will undergo the final review by the CDI Committee, which reserves the right to reject an article upon receipt or in subsequent stages, considering academic quality and verification of addressing comments. Subsequently, authors will be notified that their article or review has been approved or requires modifications. They will then undergo style correction and must complete, sign, and attach the copyright form found in the call.

e. Style correction and layout of the journal

In this final stage, the articles and reviews that have addressed the comments will undergo style correction and then be laid out for the digital Journal.
