Hate crimes during the internal armed conflict in Peru (1980-2000)
Keywords:

This article explores the mechanisms naturalizing hate crimes, from the clues found in the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC). The behavior of subversive groups is reviewed vis-à-vis the LGTB population, putting on the agenda the need for an open and unbiased debate on hate crimes. We approach first the concept of hate crime and then review four emblematic events recorded by the CVR Report. This allows us to reflect on the mechanisms of discrimination and prejudice operating in our society, which continue to claim victims.
