Abstract

In Latin America, modern politics often takes place in the field of battles for historical memory, as a struggle to control the production of historical narratives, especially that of the Cold War period. In The struggles for memory in Latin America, the Mexican historian Eugenia Allier and the Argentine sociologist Emilio Crenzel compile in comparative perspective a dozen specific works on those political struggles for the memory of the recent past in Latin America.
