Normalization and validity of gender violence: a critical reading of the discourse of military characters of Alonso Cueto

Abstract

This essay analyzes the discourse of the military characters of Alonso Cueto in the novels, La hora azul, La pasajera and La viajera del viento from the study of the categories of normalization, domestication and gine sacra. The use of these categories in the analysis will allow the designing of a qualitative and interpretative methodology that achieves: 1) relating Cueto’s work with documents provided by the Commission of Truth and Reconciliation, 2) to evidence how gender violence was normalized during the internal armed conflict and 3) To point out that the normative-original reasons for violence have become institutionalized from its domestic use.
