Inca style rock art manifestations in Amazonas: an empire’s imprint embodied in rock

We address the issue of Inca-style rock art in Amazonas Department, Perú by studying 13 places with this type of manifestation distributed in the provinces of Luya, Utcubamba and Bongará, taking into account the diagnostic motifs of this style (camelids, tunics and solar representations) and their distinctive characteristics. This study allows us to approach the social and ideological impact of the Inca empire on the societies that inhabited this area of Tawantinsuyu.
