Code of Ethics
Historia y Cultura is firmly committed to research and publication ethics. It adheres to the principles of the National Code of Scientific Integrity (Concytec, Peru), as well as the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and internationally recognized editorial best practices.
Compliance with these principles ensures that the editorial process is conducted with transparency, impartiality, confidentiality, and responsibility from manuscript submission to publication.
Specific Guidelines
- Authors must ensure that their works are original, unpublished, and methodologically rigorous. Proper citation of all sources is required, and the contributions of each author must be clearly identified.
- Reviewers must conduct objective, confidential, and substantiated reviews and recuse themselves in cases of conflict of interest.
- Editorial Team is responsible for maintaining the scientific quality of publications, ensuring the integrity of peer review, and taking appropriate action in cases of misconduct, including retraction when necessary.
Through these measures, Historia y Cultura reaffirms its adherence to national and international ethical standards, ensuring the credibility, transparency, and reliability of its published content.
Commitment Against Misconduct
The journal rejects plagiarism, falsification, and data manipulation. It uses similarity detection tools and editorial review procedures to prevent such practices. If misconduct is detected, the authors, institutions, and relevant databases will be notified, and actions may include public retraction of the article.
