Abstract

This paper focuses on the study of La Cruz de Limatambo (Tradición Nacional) by Aníbal Víctor de La Torre, published in El Correo newspaper in 1852. Through an exhaustive bibliographic research, it aims to bring attention to this little-known tradition within Peruvian literature. The analysis of the work, presented in its original transcribed version in this study, will provide deeper insight into nineteenth-century Peruvian Romanticism and its historical-literary context. Likewise, it seeks to contribute to the dissemination of Aníbal Víctor de La Torre’s legacy – who was a member of the literacy bohemia remembered by Ricardo Palma – and to further the study of Peru’s literary and intellectual history in the nineteenth century.
