We present the results of the bioarchaeological analysis of the skeleton of Wari Kayan bundle 298. We address issues such as the biological profile (sex, age, height), cranial modification, pathologies, activity markers and diet using isotopic and dental analysis. The results are compared to the information that Tello and his followers recorded in “unwrapping protocols”, and also with more recent investigations. Comparative information is scarce due to several factors, such as the lack of experience in the analysis of human remains of those who worked with the bundles after Tello, the old dated studies, and the small samples used in more recent studies. Nevertheless, we found that individual 298, as well as the skull of a child that was found near the bundle, present similar characteristics to Paracas individuals studied before and show clear evidence of their social and natural environment.
