Abstract

This article focuses on characterizing the Wasichara settlement, located in the town of Mayo Luren, district of Aucará, Lucanas, Ayacucho. We rely on the different surveys carried out, where the architecture, its spatial organization and location are recorded; as well as, archaeological and ethnohistorical bibliography are part of the analysis. The results relate the archaeological site to the Late Intermediate period (1000-1450 AD), and the Lucanas Andamarca ethnic group. Wasichara is one of the few sites located in the puna of the Luren Valley, with particular characteristics and a strategic location.
